Job Purpose

Works closely with the Grant Writing Coordinator to craft engaging and persuasive grant applications, as well as professional final reports to funders, for several of our brands (multiple Black film festivals across Canada, as well as the Being Black In Canada filmmaking mentorship program). Duties also include researching new funding opportunities, taking ownership of updating and maintaining our funding opportunities database, and managing the deadlines calendar.

Job Duties

  • Diligently researching funding opportunities from our existing funders, as well as seeking out new funding opportunities
  • Updates, manages, and maintains the master database of funding opportunities, as well as the associated deadlines calendar
  • Analyzes and reports on funding opportunities, preparing fact sheets and other documents
  • Crafts persuasive and engaging funding applications
  • Collects and analyzes funding report data and supporting documentation, preparing professional reports for our funders
  • Other duties as necessary to support the Grant Writing function

Job Skills & Qualifications

The following qualities or experiences are integral to fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of the Grant Writing Team Member:

  • Strong writing and reading comprehension skills (a writing sample may be requested)
  • Experience using Google Documents and Sheets/Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Average or above research abilities
  • Organized/great time management skills

The following qualities or experiences would be assets in fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of the Grant Writing Team Member:

  • Experience using spreadsheets for data collection and analysis
  • Experience with data entry


Hours: Full Time- Work remotely
